Agreeing to these terms

These terms cover your use of the Sidney Concrete website and any work you hire Sidney Concrete to do. When you use this site, ask for an estimate or approve a job, you agree to these terms.

If a signed estimate or contract for your job says something different from these terms, the signed document controls for that job. If you don't agree with these terms, please don't use the site, and talk to us before you book any work.

What we do

Sidney Concrete is a concrete contractor based in Sidney, OH. We build and repair driveways, patios, sidewalks, steps, garage floors, slabs, footings, foundations, retaining walls and decorative concrete for homes and businesses in Sidney and the cities around it. You can read about the full range of services on our home page and about who we are on our About page.

What's on this website is general information to help you plan. It isn't a quote, a design or advice for your particular property. The exact work we'll do for you is what's written in your estimate or contract.

Estimates and pricing

Estimates are free, in person and carry no obligation. Each estimate is based on what we can see and measure on the day we visit, including the size of the area, the thickness of the slab, the finish you choose, how much old concrete has to come out and how easy it is to get equipment to the spot.

Some conditions only show up once the old slab is broken out or the ground is dug, such as soft or wet subgrade, which is the soil the new slab sits on, buried debris, old footings or tree roots. If we find something like that, we'll stop, show you what we found and explain what it means before doing extra work. Any change in price needs your approval first.

An estimate holds for the period written on it. After that, material and labor costs may have changed, and we may need to update it.

Scheduling, weather and cancellation

Concrete depends on the weather, so every date we give is a target, not a promise. Rain, freezing temperatures or extreme heat can make a pour weak or unsafe, and when that happens we'll move the pour rather than put down concrete we wouldn't stand behind. We'll let you know as soon as we can and set a new date with you.

If you need to cancel or reschedule, please call us at (937) 658-9414 as early as you can. If you cancel after we've ordered materials, or after work has started, you're responsible for the cost of materials ordered and work already done. Any other cancellation terms will be written in your contract.

Your property and site access

You agree that you own the property or have the owner's permission for the work, and that our crew and equipment can get to the work area on the scheduled days. Trucks and equipment can leave marks on lawns and soft ground near the work area, and we'll talk with you about the route in before the job starts.

Please tell us about anything buried that we might not know about, such as sprinkler lines, pet fences, septic lines, drain tile or low-voltage lighting. We aren't responsible for damage to private buried lines that weren't pointed out to us.

Some jobs need a permit from the city or county. Your estimate or contract will say who is responsible for getting any permit your job needs, and you can always check with the city or county office that issues building permits where the property is.

Payment

Your estimate or contract sets out the total price, any deposit and when each payment is due. Unless your contract says otherwise, the final balance is due when the work is finished.

If a payment is late, we may pause work until it's paid. You're responsible for reasonable costs of collecting an unpaid balance where Ohio law allows.

What concrete does and warranty limits

We stand behind our work, and if you aren't satisfied, tell us so we can look at it with you. Some things are part of how concrete behaves, though, and they aren't defects. Concrete shrinks as it dries, so small hairline cracks can show up even on a well-built slab. We cut control joints, which are planned grooves that give the slab a place to crack along a straight line, but no contractor can promise a slab will never crack.

Color and texture can also vary from one section to the next and from any sample or photo, especially with stamped and colored finishes. A broom finish, the light texture brushed into the surface for grip, will vary a little in pattern by hand.

New concrete needs time to cure, which is the period it has to set and gain strength before it's walked or driven on. Damage caused by using the slab before we tell you it's ready, by de-icing salts, by heavy loads it wasn't built for, or by ground movement, tree roots, drainage changes or other work done after we leave isn't covered.

Any specific written warranty for your job is the one written in your contract. Beyond that, and to the extent Ohio law allows, Sidney Concrete makes no other warranties, whether express or implied, about the work or about the information on this website.

Limitation of liability

To the extent Ohio law allows, Sidney Concrete isn't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, such as loss of use of your driveway, lost income or the cost of renting other parking. Our total liability for any claim about a job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job.

We aren't liable for any loss that comes from relying on general information on this website instead of an in-person estimate. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have that Ohio law doesn't allow to be limited.

Resolving disagreements

If something about your job isn't right, call us first. Most problems get sorted out quickly when we come back out, look at it together and talk it through.

If we can't settle it that way, both sides agree to try in good faith to reach an agreement before taking legal action. Any claim that's left must be brought in a state or federal court located in Ohio.

Governing law

These terms, your use of this website and any work we do for you are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version posted on this page applies to anyone using the site, and the version in effect when you sign your contract applies to that job unless we both agree in writing to something else.
